"America the beautiful"
and "from sea to shining sea" are phrases we've learned early in
our primary education. The promises of freedom, prosperity and general well
being are the premise upon which our nation was founded and built. With this
in mind, we as Americans, took the best of the old to make the most of the new.
Our roots, often found in England (the British Isles), give meaning and
appreciation to the newly found beauty of America but left us with a
melancholy and curiosity of the lands left behind by our forefathers. America
is blessed with a variety of landscapes, from the wide, fertile, sprawling
farms of the Heartland to the cramped, bustling city scenes to placid and
tranquil inland lakes and finally to the ocean, all reflective of what was
left behind. |
